‘My heart is shattered,’ says Pope after Texas shooting

Pope Francs has said that his ‘heart is shattered for the school tragedy in Texas’ following the shooting that killed 19 children and two adults.

“I pray for the children and adults killed and their families,” he said during his weekly Wednesday Audience.

The shooting took place at Robb Elementary School in Ulvalde, Texas, which teaches children aged between seven and 10.

The Holy Father also called for an end to ‘the indiscriminate arms trade’ in response to the shooting.

“Let us all commit ourselves so that such tragedies can never happen again,” he said.

The gunman, an 18-year-old who may have attended school in the area, was also killed.
