Go to church to cool off, urges NHS

With Scotland facing record-breaking temperatures, the NHS has advised heading to church to avoid the heat.

Scotland may be set for its hottest day on record this week, with predictions of a 34 Celsius degree heatwave.

An NHS and UK Department for Health document released in May suggests churches as good places to seek shelter from the heat along with libraries and the shaded parts of homes.

Scotland is yet to receive a red warning for heat from the Met Office unlike much of England.

However, amber warnings for heat have been issued across Scotland.
