Archdiocese of Edinburgh lessens Covid restrictions

Parishes within the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh are no longer required to take contact details, the Archdiocese has today confirmed.

However, the wearing of a face covering is still mandatory unless in the case of exemptions.

“If a situation arises where someone contracts Covid and the parish priest is made aware of it, it will be for the priest to decide if he wants to take further action,” the Archdiocese stated, “such as encouraging those in attendance at the Mass or service in question to take a lateral flow test.”

The Archdiocese stressed that should the priest make an announcement, ‘he should be careful not to reference the name of hte individual concerned or identify them in any way.’
