Trevor Jones, a longstanding supporter of the Nazareth Trust, is set to embark on a 75.7km-long hiking route through the Holy Land to raise funds for Nazareth Hospital.
The 2022 Nazareth Challenge, an annual event, will be Jones’ 19th, seeing him attempt to reach a total of £70,000 raised through all annual events.
He has so far raised £67,777 since first beginning the challenge.
Jones said: “On the previous 18 Challenge I have cycled, however, for Personal reasons, this challenge will see me ‘walking in footsteps of Jesus’. “
The challenge will see him beginning ‘in Nazareth and ending at Capernaum, with stops at Zippori, Horns of Hatton, Magdala’ and the Sea of Galilee.
The challenge, which was meant to occur in 2021, had to be rescheduled to this autumn due to issues relating to Covid.
“The Nazareth Challenge 2022 will go towards the much-needed expansion of the Pastoral Care Team, which has helped mitigate the anxiety and isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
